Over the past five years, New York based, actor Roddy Murphy has extensively pursued his passion for acting and singing. Experienced in a wide range of media, which include stage, television commercials, music videos and television programs, Roddy Murphy Roddy continues to work with an acting coach. Roddy has been involved with over 10 film and television projects. Two of the most recent, "Killswitch", directed by
Dan Pyrogoda, and " The House is Burning", with director Holger Ernest, were both screened at the May 2006 “Cannes Film Festival” in France.

His focus on improvisation, dialect, combined with movement and acting has lead to several roles in regional theater productions, one being the opportunity to portray "The Narrator" in the cult classic theatrical productionof "Rocky Horror Show" at Cultural Arts Playhouse on Long Island. At The Harry Chapin Theater in East Meadow, New York, Roddy’s appearance in the production of “West Side Story” as the character, Doc, which was performed in front of an audience of over 3,000 patrons of the arts. Additional theater credits include, “Witness for the Prosecution”, “Annie” and “Footloose”.

Roddy’s theatrical background, has given him more depth into character portrayal which has immensely enhanced his acting work in television projects. Roddy has appeared in the award winning series, “Everyone’s Doing it”, with Director Clayton Broome, which aired on BCAT and Manhattan Public Acess. More recently Roddy featured in the NBC television series, “Conviction” and a TV pilot, “Kidnapped” which starred Timothy Hutton and Dana Delaney.

Roddy would like to thank all the wonderful people in his life for their support, especially his loving, beautiful, amazingly talented daughter (also an actress) for all her inspiration and support.
